I've checked, and it doesn't look like you need invites at the moment? :scratch: Also, I can't see there are any limits on the amount of hours you can listen anymore, though if you go for the free "Open" account you will only get 160 kbps and the adverts.

It might only be 160kbps but it still sounds quite decent through my system, the adverts are a bloody pain though. :rolleyes: There's a 20hr limit Alex, or there was when I signed up to listen to one of your albums last week ;)

Thanks for clarifying that Dave. Seriously though, the £10 a month Premium subscription is the best £10 a month I've ever spent - the amount of CDs I've NOT bought after a couple of listens (in 320kbps quality, without adverts) easily pays for it. :)

I agree. I'm seriously considering giving up my sub to LastFM for Spotify. I hardly ever use LFM now, and even when I do it never seems to stick to the category I select. :eyebrows:

I have a premium account but am still struggling with the "best" way to use it. Maybe there isn't though and is it simply a combinations of its features.

How do you on AoS use Spotify most often?

By adding specific albums as playlists? But you then already have to know what you are looking for.

For finding new music:
Use playlists found on sites like this (http://sharemyplaylists.com/)?
Use the Radio-function for one of the 25 genres?
Use "Artist radio"?
Use "Related artists"?
Use "What's new"?
Other?

And for those who didn't already know, you can use Spotibot (http://spotibot.com/) for generating random playlists.

I usually go to related artist and look through albums to see what I like
You can eaisly create your own playlist or add other peoples playlist to mine
I never bother with the radio side of spotify

Like John, I use the related artists function quite a bit, but I also search on song titles to find interesting cover versions - I've always found this a good way to find new (to me) artists, because if someone has done a song I like as an interesting cover, the chances are that some of their own stuff may be of interest too. On the other hand I usually run a mile if I hear a 'painting by numbers' version of a familiar track.
