They tend to hold their value second hand, so price difference isn't that great really. :)

The Caiman is well worth saving up for Russ. Funds were and are an issue for me too and my Gator'd Caiman is the only piece of equipment I've owned from new in my system. I agree with Bernie, Stan's DAC's hold their value on the secondhand market for two reasons, they are damned fine DAC's and are excellent VFM. Also, in the unlikely event you should encounter any problems with your DAC, Stan's level of customer service is second to none... ;)
