Hello all,

Trying to find some information about these speakers,

Reciently accuired a pair and wanted to know the history of them and perntial value?

Searching Google dosnt bring anything up and seacrhing ebay compleated sales also brings up blanks!

Iv always liked the way linear phase array is done on these,

But im torn, i bought them to sell but i the design of them i like them but have enouth speakers!

Yep thats them the they look much better with the grills on them though

There are quite a few Technics models missing from that site , i think its based mostly on the US versions ?

Here is a Techy speaker i would love to get my hands on:)

A pair on eBay at the moment @£475 , listed as being $1300 new on the Vintage site .

I remember selling these in the '70's new. Came out at similar time the to the original SL1200. There was also another model, 3 way, with the tweeter stuck on the top. Think they were 5500. Time aligned speaker theory was a bit of a hot topic then. However, they were quite expensive then compared to Mord Short 700, (13" x 9"), 737 etc. as we still had Purchase Tax and anything with less than a 12" driver had 42%, then reduced to 33%, tax slapped on it. Made Tannoys seem positively cheap then, no purchase tax on the 12" and 15" as classed as "industrial".

You will find collectors in Japan and the States for some of these models Technics.
