Hi Gareth,

Welcome to AOS :)

You've got some lovely gear there, not least the little Leben integrated - I love that little amp! It appeals to all my audio sensibilities.

Good to see another KAB 1210 aficionado joining the fold. The Techy is developing quite a following now as word of mouth spreads fast. It really is a fabulous turntable and I hope it continues to chip away and break the stranglehold 'rubber band' decks like the Linns, Regas and Pro-Jects have on the UK marketplace!!

Anyway, get stuck in and have fun. I particularly look forward to your input in our music room :smoking:

Marco.

Thankyou!
The Technics have been up and running for some time now, not much to add that hasn't already been discussed on various fora-timing and bass their particular strength along with instant start up and reliability. Vinyl playback is as good as I could want for. No more fiddling for a while now!
The Leben amp is absolutely gorgeous, one of the most nicely constructed objects I've owned, the sound-very natural and unforced, makes listening to music a real pleasure. Got it 2nd hand but low-mileage and more or less as-new condition-love it!

Gareth,

The Leben amp is absolutely gorgeous, one of the most nicely constructed objects I've owned...

That's exactly what I meant earlier about it appealing to my sensibilities. I love bespoke, 'boutique', equipment from specialist manufacturers. As much as it sounds superb (and it does) the Leben is a thing of beauty to look at and use: it's the work of a dedicated artisan and engineer where quality and attention to detail counts above everything else - such things are important to me with hi-fi.

I just wish that there was more of this type of gear being made today than some of the plastic, 'copycat', mass-produced rubbish currently populating the marketplace :(

Have you heard its bigger brother? I forget the model number. I bet that's a really serious piece of kit!

Marco.

The chap I bought it from had also owned the cs 600 which is the amp I think you refer to-his opinion was that the 300x was the more musical of the two by some margin! Haven't had the pleasure of hearing one so can't confirm or refute this though.
