If you have the latter, speakers with right or near right angles, you have the former. Diffraction is the reflection of sound waveforms shorter in length than the width of your speaker cabinets and summing in with your high frequency driver's direct output late, out of time and phase. Lil footnote- didn't see a way to modify the above statement at this date:

So . . The red and green circles at the lower link are not a part of your recordings, it is redundant information arriving out of time and phase off your speaker baffle and edges. Your speakers will have more accurate tonality with greater and truer dimensionality of things with the addition of what I make.
