Very nice. Lovely headphone stand too - is that one of Russ's?

I've heard great things about them. What caught my eye more, Ian, is the way you've co-ordinated all the wooden parts (turntable plinth, CD shelving, headphone stand) to match. Heck, even the wallpaper looks like a bigger version of the wood veneer.
Is there a thread showing the rest of your kit?

There's a gallery thread around somewhere, But here's a flickr link to the current set up.

The matching set consists of

Combined Rack and TT plinth
CD rack for 400 CD's
Vinyl rack for 1,000 albums
Headphone stand

All designed (? not sure that's the right word, idea might be a more accurate word) by me and made by Russ Collinson.

Stupendous setup, and the woodwork takes it to another level.

Nice! But I'm more interested in what looks like a Schick tonearm and an SP10, in a very nice plinth...

Could we have a nice loving close-up of those, please? :)

Marco.

Some more pics of Ian's (TBL's) system here: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8850

But agree some nice juicy close-ups would be gratefully received! :)

Just beautiful. I love wood, especially when it supports a nice turntable :)

There are a couple of close-ups of the arm in the flickr link, or did you mean something else?

Hi Ian,

Yes I saw those - nice one. But what I meant was some new close-ups of your SP-10/Schick/SPU, posted here in full view (via Imageshack or Photobucket), without the need for us to access them via your flickr account - ta! :)

I've got a pic of Ian's SP-10 Schick SPU from Scalford 2010, it's not in the RC hifi stand but it's in the plinth that fits inside the stand, I believe.

This might help until Ian gets some others up.

Hi Ian, could I ask where you sourced yours from - I'm very interested in trying a pair of those?

It sounded just as good as it looks on the day too!

I love the schick tonearm & fancy trying one at some point!

Same here! I love the styling and engineering quality...

It'll either be the 9" version of the Schick or an Ortofon RS-212D next for my Techy/SPU :)

Lol, indeed. I'm almost tempted to do it just for that reason.....

Hi Tim,

I got them through a dealer on Wigwam, hifisound.co.uk Took awhile as they VERY slow at answering messages.

Cheers

Ian

I'll try and get some more done so you can see how that plinth fits into the rack.

They're hand-made though, aren't they? So you'd think he could make them to any length you wanted, such is the nature of a bespoke service........

Nice cans Ian. :stalks:

I like, too, the "wood" part in cans ! Although I chose a different manufacturer (Audio-Technica) for mine. ;)

Hi Tim, it's such a shame but you'll have trouble trying out a pair before you buy I fear.
I simply took the plunge, rang up the distributor paid with my credit card and they were delivered to me midday the next day.
So....the sound. To me , beautiful. Obviously everyone else can hear how clear they are too.
I searched through forum after forum for a month before I arrived at these. I was torn between the Grado 1000i's and RS1i's and the HD800's.
The audeze's are a little uncomfortable after 6 hours of listening. You probably would benefit from taking them off and letting the harsh real world back in....
