For Sale: a pair of Zu Druid MkIV in gloss black
These have had the essential Mundorf Silver Foil crossover capacitor upgrade.
They are about 4 years old now. I've been enjoying them for 3 of those years.
They come with their original packing cartons, ball feet and spikes, a manual and plastic covers to protect the drivers while moving them around.
I'm selling them because I am moving over to the dark side - I am becoming a headphonista http://www.technobear.btinternet.co.uk/emoticons/phones_banging.gif
Of course these can be demonstrated here in Glastonbury, Somerset. They are the same pair that some of you may have seen and heard at Scalford earlier this year where they were very well received. I can accommodate if you are coming a long way.
They retailed at £3500 for the standard version. Gloss black was extra and the Mundorfs add another £70.
I would like £1700 for them.

I'm going to have to downsize at some point so they will eventually have to go.
However, my new headphones are not here yet so I am still listening to them and of course every time I do, I think surely there must be some other way that allows me to keep them. They sound simply amazing - even without the Bel Canto which was also amazing but then the Croft is amazing too.
I'll see how I feel once I've got the new headphones and have run them in...
I suspect after awhile you miss that in your body experience speakers give. Some folks love headphones but I had quite a few and never had the same satisfaction I get with big speakers, but understand sometimes needs must

...and cheaper than my Ocellias by about £7000!
Happy listening!

+1 ;)
Now, what you need from speakers is bass you can feel, not something the Zu's are good at unless they're thrashed I found. Maybe that's why headphones appeal 'cos the bass is in you head rather than pumping your stomach :) - and I do play at very low volumes these days :)

These are lovely speakers, both to hear AND look at! I recall being impressed at Scalford this year!
A good buy for someone; something you can fit, then not worry any more (except about what to play through them for years to come!

My new headphones still aren't here
Every time I listen to the Druids I am reminded why I bought them in the first place http://www.technobear.btinternet.co.uk/emoticons/perfect.gif

Yep, I was amazed to see this FS ad.
You are so happy with the Dru's.
Why the need to downsize? (yep, I know, none of my business! :))

Well, the new headphones are here and they are great. I would go so far as to say they beat any speaker I've ever heard at any price.
So, who would like my Druids?

These are amazing loudspeakers. They do things with ease that most loudspeakers don't even attempt. They are tops for coherence, speed, PR&T, realism, transparency, dynamics. Nothing else at this price will make your music sound so alive and real.
