View Full Version : Second Time Round.
Hi Guys,
Wobbly Dave is back, or at least he will be if I can find the wobbly avatar  .
I thought it best to make my presence known this way, second time around so that new members know where I've come from :)
Nice to be back on the inside looking out.
Warning though, I'm just as opionated :ner:
Dave.

Hey there Dave
Welcome back to you Dave and hope the cats are well and lording it (as cats do so well :))
I seem to read recently that you've had a cartridge upgrade - to a top model Nagaoka?
I don't know what you have between the speakers and sideboard these days, but the squashball thread may interest you :)

Hi Dave
Hope your keeping well :)
Hi Dave, hope you are well, and a warm welcome back to the bosom of AoS from me. :)
I believe DSJR is right, as I saw your posts on the Nagaoka MP-30 after I snapped Jerry's off of him - and very pleased I did too. :) My JMJ albums never sounded so good! ;)
Look forward to "chatting" with you again. :)
Hi Guys,
Funny two of you should mention the upgraded cartridge - coincidence or ....? It was the new cartridge that brought about the eventual reunion - awwww! But that's a story for another day ;) .
Suffice it to say that I think the MP30 is a major improvement on the MP11.
Cheers,
Dave.
Hi Dave, welcome back.
Have you tried or thought of the passive coupling mod for the StanDAC?
Have you tried or thought of the passive coupling mod for the StanDAC?
Hi Martin,
Thanks for your welcome.
As you may recall, I'm not the most technically aware of audiophiles so I may misunderstand your question, but to answer your question as best I can, I tried the 'big yellow candle' thingummies as Gaz called them, together with the wires that shortened the signal path, but preferred the Caiman. Since then I've put a 'water tower/brown dog' adapter in with a pair of OPA111BM and that gives me the best HP SQ that I've ever had from my system - only problem is that the lid won't fit now.
Cheers,
Dave.
Ok, I've parsed your description a couple of times and it makes sense. Glad it's doing it for you :)

;)
Hi Dave!
How's things?
If he's ^ still around I resign ;) . On second thoughts I might stick around 'cos he's got his hands full with a new 'rug rat' so I don't expect to see him too often :) .
Hi Hamish, nice to 'see' you again - hope all is well with you and Hannah and the new addition and the menagerie - got your hands full at the moment I'll bet.
Cheers mate,
Dave.
