Just popping in for a half hour or so having just had my dinner :) I'll be off again to get bored crapless by laying down again (reading books etc) very shortly but i thought i ought to say hello & let you (those that don't know what's going on) that i haven't all of a sudden kicked the bucket

Just been having a rather bad time in the spinal department, prolapsed disc/s etc & sciatica just to put the icing on the cake

I hope you are all well, i'll hopefully be making more of an appearance towards the end of the week after hopefully completing nearly a months worth of shopping to restock the blasted freezer

Take it easy folks & all the best to you, i can't wait to get back to normality :mex:

So glad to see you back, if only fleetingly initially - my gawd your expertise has been missed around these parts ;)

Wifey has back issues and although not as severe as yours, I do understand how debilitating it can be, as we seem to use our back muscles in almost all movements I reckon..

I shall be needing your advice at some point soon ;)

Take care and don't over-do it with the shopping - enough to put your back right out again

Hi Biff
I had a serious accident when i was younger, ive had back trouble ever since, when i put weight on it's murder i cant physically get out of bed some mornings,if i lay on my back all night in bed i'm pretty much done for in the morning... The lifting at work, even though it reletivly minor is still a total nightmare..watching how much i eat is one of the most important things, to keep the weight off..but many a time i've been just like Mark bed ridden.

Awww shucks guys, very nice of you to lay it on thick like

No seriously i do appreciate all your kind words & hoping Humpty Dumpty gets put back together again :o

If there is one good thing to have come of this then i can say that i have had loads of time to consider exactly what i'm going to do in the way of my new front speakers :) I kind of decided that i'm seriously unlikely to ever make another pair & if i'm going to do it it'll have to be just about as soon as i can, just in case :eyebrows: That's just in case i can't in the future

Make hay while the sun shines i think sums things up...

Hopefully i'll be back on here most evenings from now on  Things are still easing up so i'm going to try & go shopping tomorrow & see how i get on, fun - not!

Bests to all of you!

Hi Mark

So good to see you back. Can't you organise a lash-up to dangle your lappy over your bed or something? You know we miss you and we can't be having all this "no access to AoS" bollo :)

Reid Malenfant

 It might be possible, just means i'll need a rather long lead to connect from the microfilter on the phone line to go upstairs.... 40ft or so i reckon

What's that cable called Martin? The one from the microfilter to router?

Alternatively i get 50ft+ of ethernet cable :eyebrows:

That would be very cheap from Ebuyer Mark

Yep, Tim beat me to it but best to extend the ethernet cable. Don't you have a wireless router?

Martin, come on chap... You should know better than most on here that any wireless stuff can be hacked (code protected or not). I know a guy the deals with some of this as a business hacking into secure (yeah right) networks... He mentioned about 3 programs...

Airsnort was one i remember, can't remember the others

No thanks, i'll stay wired ;) Cheers Neil & Andr'e

I like wires :lolsign:

That's a bit paranoid, Mark. I use WPA2K encryption, which is pretty secure. More importantly, who would want to hack into my network? I have nothing of value to find.

In any case, I could see if anyone was in my network at a glance, so I'm quite happy with wireless and would not be without it for the convenience of having it all round the house and in the garden.

I had a bad case of sciatica last year(and a little while this year) i have never felt pain like it,so totally sympathise.

I had an unfortunate trip to the south of france,in a transit van, which took about 20hrs(don't ask).Im not sure how it is for you,but for me being in a seated position, was the worst position to be in.I was supposed to take about 3-4 painkillers every 4-6hrs,i ended up taking about 20 in 12hrs,plus nurofen on top of that.I was still in pain though.

Get well soon and don't rush it (like i did trying to lift my speaker and stand together which weigh about 70kgs )
