EAR 802 VALVE PRE-AMP

Some say one of the best pre-amps on the planet.

Alleged to have a wonderous phono stage too, but as I am all digital, I couldn't say.

Mullard 802 valves (very rare, btw, a load of spares included in sale) in the line stage. CVC Premium ECC83s in the phono stage.

Nice condition. No, you wouldn't mistake it as new, but pretty good nonetheless.

Lots of inputs and tape outputs. 1 set of pre-outs.

£750 UK delivered. Or come and pick it up chez Jerry (GL17 Glos) for £700.

Hi anu

This SOLD a few weeks ago.

In common with most vintage EAR amps, it isn't the quietest on the planet - not good with very efficient spkrs, but fine with most.

There is loads of gain though - so using in-line attenuators works well.

thanks jerry, sorry i overlooked the date of your ad
anyway thanks for the info - i've always thought 802 is something special, even for standards of 864 which i owned and liked, until i got (far too:)) efficient speakers that really limits a number of partnering equipment.

Yup, too true.

When I had my 100dB/W Avantgarde Unos it was a real pain in the butt being restricted to dead-quiet amps. :( Efficiency is good, but not if taken too far!
