Ah Hamish, that's great - hopefully everyone is fine.
Congratulations, mate!
A most important thing though, did you check the toes?
Congratulations Daddy-O! Typical bloke - no information - do you even know if you have a son or a daughter? ;) Seriously though, I hope everything is ok with all of you, and now the fun really starts!
Congrats Hamish. Hope Hannah and the little 'un are doing well.

well done you two nothing on earth as amazing as seeing a new life being brought into the world.
Congratulations Hamish :)
I’ve got this theory.
Back in the day when rugrats roamed the floor and the wife started making unreasonable demands regarding the latest hi tech baby transport to ferry the little bleeders about I presented her with something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/baby-car-seat-carrier-slings/b?ie=UTF8&node=60538031
rather than something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/b/ref=amb_link_160227887_5?ie=UTF8&node=60257031&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0FS3PFVB80KC6VMESC38&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=244306127&pf_rd_i=60043031
As you can see there is a considerable price difference.
However, the benefits don’t stop there. My theory is, stick a baby in his/her/its own wheeled transport shortly after birth and given they learn lots of stuff in the first two years, not only do they get the idea that wheeled transport is their birthright but the missus soon realizes that all this pushing baby in their wheeled transport is hard graft and what’s required is something similar but with an engine!
Get the bloody lot used to walking early is my view. Saves you a fortune later in life.
;)
Congrats, dude, all the best to Hannah and you! Is it a boy or a girl? Got a name yet? Anyway, I wish him or her, a long, healthy and happy life :)
Marco.

Lovely pic, Hamish. She's beautiful... I think this discussion needs a separate thread, don't you, as it's far from being "something trivial"!! ;)
I'll arrange it, if you want :)
Marco.
She's lovely! (Trust me, I only say that 'cos I mean it, some babies are well, shall we say, not!) Don't worry about the name, Avatar (that isn't really her name, btw, in case anyone wondered!) didn't have one for about 4 days - we waited for one from the short-list to "fit" her personality.
And yes - she definitely needs her own thread Marco!
Congrats again to you all, and hope you have a great family life together.
Congrats Hamish, really nice photo, it amazes me how long the finger nails are when there born
Yep, what the others have said, as babies go she’s lovely :)
Almost two weeks to name ours.
Congrats Hamish, really nice photo, it amazes me how long the finger nails are when there born
Yep, I recommend you get some sleep suits with built in mitts. Trust me, she'll scratch her pretty little face with those nails. The separate mitts that you can buy just come off. Get the suits with them built in.
Oh, and many congratulations Hamish, and the missus!
Wonderful news Hamish!
She looks lovely, congratulations to you both.
This is by far the best thing I've read here for weeks.
:mex:
Expect to see lots of photos of her in your photo forum. :)

Well done Hamish, and Hannah (Hannah should get most of the 'well dones' I think!) She looks beautiful, good luck and best wishes mate!
Congrats to the pair of you and hope Hannah can get "some" rest in between everything else. Good luck to your life-change too Hamish - it hits us fellas just as hard but in different ways as "baby" will always come first for the rest of your lives - well, until the grand-kids come along anyway .........
Congratulations to you and mrs Hamish! As of today your life has gained a purpose. I am 100% sure nothing can wipe that big smile of your face these next days, no matter who or what. Cherish these moments!

Late congratulations, good sir. Welcome to the club! Welcome to the club! (...boy, are you in for it...) :eyebrows: It's all good. I love mine, dearly. :)
Congratulations, Hamish & Hannah! Were you there for the birth, Hamish? It's quite an experience, isn't it? :)
Hamish, babies are creatures of habit so dont introduce anything that you won't be happy to do every day for the next 2 years.
For example, if it takes lying on a bed of nails to get her asleep, she'll accept nothing less next time, so find another way! ;)
Btw, we have a crib for sale....

Congratulations, Hamish & Hannah! Were you there for the birth, Hamish? It's quite an experience, isn't it? :)
Yeah, it was certainly something! What supprised me the most was really how natural an occasion it seemed ... It's obviously a very natural thing to do, but I sort of expected to be in a right fuss not knowing what to do with my self! It was pretty extreme, and awesome in the true sence of both words at times ... But it didnt feel out of control or unusual, but maybe we were just lucky dor how smoothly it went!
Same goes for since we have got home ... Nothing seems odd, just different! Was chatting with Dan (Jennings) via text last night, I said the same to him, it pretty mental whats happened, me now being a dad and all thats come with it, but the mental thing really is how not mental it is ... But as I also said to Dan, maybe it just hasn't sunk in yet!
For now I shall just enjoy this little bubble of Hannah and me and Connie whilst I'm off work and just hope nothing major does change, as at the mo I am a very happy bunny!

Heh, yeah, we have her in our room at the mo in a 'Moses basket' thing ... She sleeps in that for now, I'm not looking forward to when we try and get her to sleep in her cot in the nursery ... I don't think she is going to like it

hi Hamish,
Thats great news, congratulations!:)
Anthony,TD...
I'm not looking forward to when we try and get her to sleep in her cot in the nursery ... I don't think she is going to like it
Move her as soon as you feel it's right and don't leave it any longer. A baby monitor will keep you happy and she will adapt to her new surroundings more easily if she is younger.

Cheers Anthony!
Yeah, guess your right Martin!
I exercised my paranoia when buying a baby monitor and bought 2
1 phillips dact job with temperature sensor night light and all sorts
On top of that I got this thing called baby sence ii which detects movements down to how many breaths a minute and sets off an alarm if it goes below a certain amount...
Probably over the top really but having watch eastenders cot death story over Xmas I was suitably concerned enough to fork out the £60 extra for the peace of mind!!

Never mind the cot & all that nonsense - have you got her 'My First Hi-Fi' set up yet?
You know you have to...

As it goes, we have been playing the album 'now we are no one' by 'Mum' loads since the beginning of Hannah's pregnancy to see if she remembers and likes it when she is older ... it's a great album anyway, but I think it's particularly baby friendly!

I KNOW! How cool ... I hope she likes the books!
We ummed and arred over it being her first name, but couldn't do it in the end ... We even decided that I she was born on a Thursday we would do it... She was, we bailed ... Didn't want to dig her to much of a whole for her school days. The biggest problem with thursday as a name is actualy how brumys say it ... 'Thursdee' just doesn't sound as nice!
Pleased for you bud. I know its a serious subject but it did make me smile seeing a AOS member getting a fully speced baby monitor.
Good choice for baby music , the MUM album.

Yeah, just need the nursery hifi up and running now :)
The baby sence is brilliant! Really gives you peace of mind at night! ... For the cost of a meal out in a half decent restaurant, it's really a no brainer if you ask me!
It sounds like a nice piece of kit and a good idea Hamish. Cant put a price on peace of mind.
Enjoy her first few years as much as you can. They go to quickly.
