Hi All,
Here is a Ming Da MC34-A07 in good condition.
I have upgraded this amp by installing quality film capacitors in the power supply, along side the good Phillips BCs.
I have fitted a HT voltage switch on the side next to the power switch. You wait approx 20 seconds after the power switch has been thrown so that the heaters are warmed up. This is to prolong the life of the rectifier and other valves.
Cathode capacitors on input and power valves have also been upgraded.
Coupling caps are SR MKP film type. An Alps Blue volume pot is used with a 4 way input selector.
All voltages are correct for this country and chassis is earthed, so no worries there.
It comes with the following valves:
2 x Shuguang 274B Rectifiers 1 new the other 300 hours
2 x Tung-Sol EL34B 300 hours
2 x Shuguang EL34B new
2 x Jinvina EL 34 JV unknown
2 x Tung-Sol 12AX7 ECC803S 300 hours
2 x TAD 12AX7A-C unknown
I have had the best results with the Tung-Sol valves, sounds really good.
You need fairly sensitive loudspeakers around 90dB or higher.
This is very quiet through the speakers no hum.
