I joined in early 2009 & never introduced myself -seems like I've already hit 100 posts :). At that time I was a DIY audio guy (& still am) but since then my status has changed, I've gone over to the dark-side. I'm now a member-of-the-trade (or as some would say - a snake-oil salesman).

How this happened was not any grand plan on my part - I posted my journey modifying some USB audio devices that I found sounded great, firstly a Musiland 01 & then a Hiface. Others also did the mods & really liked the results. I began to get PMs asking me to do these mods for others & the volume was enough that I decided I would do it for a fee & it grew.

Anyway, that's my story - I still DIY but not nearly as much as I would like to!

Hi John,
Thanks for doing this.
Is it too late to say welcome to The Art of Sound?!

Hi John,

What's the name of your business? :)

Marco.

Marco,
I haven't thought of a name for it yet  I might hold a competition & the best name wins a MK2 modified Hiface?

Hi John - congratulations on being outed - and good luck with the business - there is no finer thing I think, than being able to turn something you have a passion for into your day job. :)

Hi John,

I've read about your developments with the Hi-Face over time & just wondered if you'd had a nosey inside the Young? If so what was your thoughts?

EDIT: No worries on answering the questions John, I've just found out you produce your own Dac based around the Sabre ES9022, sounds very interesting!

Thanks Alex,
Sorry alfie - I haven't looked at it & probably unwise to speculate.
