BEKO Fridge Freezer - some models DANGEROUS

Just been reading the Insurance thread.

Have you checked if you have a BEKO FFreezer. My wife asked me to check if it was one of the dangerous ones that have been causing fires in London - I put it down to Women's Worry - I forgot about it - turns out it is one - I would suggest if you have BEKO, you should check.

If there is a safety issue here or a fire did occur, is not the supplier (retailer) also liable? They have records and legally have to keep them for 7 years - or surely the manufacturer should request details of purchasers.

Maybe under the 6 year rule, it is a manufacturing/design fault and should supply a new model - they have already made the admission.

This is our first BEKO product, and the reason I posted was because it was purchased in Wrexham Currys.

Are they poorer quality products?

I think everyone should occasionally search the web for recall on any electrical product they own that is left switched on unattended. Manufacturers are not always good at contacting purchasers if there is a known problem

HiFi is not immune to these issues either.

wow never knew that , i used to have very cool running amps [ice module] but now use pretty hot running amps but turn off when not attended

I think that is excellent advice for the extremely tiny minority that buy Beko products and also view hifi forums. :lol:

Some of us though just want a narrow fridge freezer, and don't need to buy one with spikes and is hard wired whilst storing every copy of WHICH magazine in the lou so as to compare the audible db level of the thingey switching on that makes it cool. I suppose now you will be able to tell me of a forum about FF that fellas all contribute to on which they find the best.:lol:
