Got major gains from new crossovers in my Tannoy Monitor Golds using some reasonably premium bits.

Some interesting ideas here though ... had been thinking about going active, KT88 PP on the 15in cone, flea-powered SET on the 2in compression driver. But this looks like an intriguing alternative avenue.

Anyone had any experience with these? Weren't there some electrostats back in the 60s used them commercially?

Tim de Pavarachini (or whatever his name is!) did something with valves and ESL63s or 57s but it may have been some kind of valve active amp.

Manley Labs also made cross-overs and cabinets for a 10inch Tannoy driver but not sure if they were tubed cross-overs or not - parts still available for $1600 if you can find the drivers to supply (the ones in Little Reds).
