Good point !! havn,t really considered this i have a passion for high quality standmounts,and decided I wanted to explore a floor stander again, so I guess it is dependent on mood and music!
Strange thing is the Rubies sound very nearly as big despite having a 5" driver!

How much were the Rubies?

I had to import the rubies from the usa,you can pick them up from audiogon circa $1500 + $600 for the matching stands ,however although it annoyed me at the time I sold a pair of Revel Ultima Gems at 4 times the cost,but kept the rubies,I havn,t heard any standmount that does bass like the Rubies at this modest price point.

pictures are deceptive ,the loft is 42 ft long 17ft across and normal ceiling height ,except of course at the sloping sides,could do with more soft furnishings however!

It's a shame so many great audio products are built in the states, very expensive to import them to the UK!

i bought them a few months ago ,unbelievably £169 the pair!! but last pair to clear, could try ebay though?

A nice system you've got there & I love the way that the 714 sq ft room gives the lie to much of the crap that's often said about stand mounts vs. floorstanders.
I think I'd be filling a room that size with more stuff though if it were mine!

What a lovely calm listening environment, add just a little artwork to personalise it and it could be perfect.

And quality standmounts with ribbon tweeters, they should work really well in pretty much any real world domestic environment.

Love the floor standers. I've had a look at the Wilmslow site and it doesn't look like they sell that model anymore.

I've been thinking about going three-way, but am also swayed by the thought of getting myself a nice big pair of full range speakers like some of the Audio Nirvana Alnico 12" jobbies.
