I so loved my C64.

I had for xmas when I was 10 and even though I moved on to PCs and Amigas I kept it.

when I was about 28 and returning home from work for a weekend I found they had taken it down the dump. I think I actually shed a tear that evening.

My dad nearly bought me an Oric-1 which was probably superior to the 48k Speccy I ended up with - luckily I was able to persuade him the school had Sinclairs and I would be better off with that... Nothing to do with Atic Atak or Jetpac etc... :eyebrows:

I've still got my commodore 64 (my dads really) I can't seem to get it working ... It's possibly due to it being just a smudge older than i am!

Aaaah my 64K Spectrum. That brings back a few childhood memories.
Shite food, white dog poo (why don't dogs do that any more?), playing football with your mates. An age of innocence.
I actually think the games for those old machines were actually BETTER than the modern overblown ones. They were very inventive.
I was addicted to playing an arcade game called Tempest. It came out for the Commodore 64, but not for the Spectrum. There are a few online versions but they're not the same.

[PEDANT MODE] Sorry Rich - no such thing - the original rubber key model came in 16K or 48K if you were really lucky and conned your parents you needed it for school - the revised version (Spectrum 128, +2 etc) had 128K but no 64K model.[/PEDANT MODE]

My 16k Spectrum (Ahhhh!) was much better than anything the school had for a couple of years until they got a BBC 'B' -

Spectrums didn't have 64K unless you owned a Russian or Eastern European close, you could however get a 64K ZX 81, most spectrums came in 48 or 128k flavours.
