Hi Guys,
I have just become the UK dealer for Meicord who are based in Germany. They manufacture an audiophile ethernet cable, don't be sat there thinking what a load of snake oil, a customer actually put me onto these cables and he was most enthusiastic about them. A must for connecting your Squeezbox to your router or NAS drive etc, available up to 20 metres long, as an example the 5 metre version which I will be using costs around £95, and please no thread crapping until you have heard one in action!

Listening sessions at my place for anyone who is interested, bring your cheque book though!

Would this cable have any utility if one uses home plugs ?

Hi Peter,
Home plug assuming you mean via the mains supply, well I use those for certain areas around the house but have not tried the meicord cables with them yet, I cannot imagine them being any worse than what you currently use. There is a test reprot/review of the cables on my website (http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk) and further technical information will be added this week.

I can't imagine them being worse, but have dificulty imagining them being better. Because, I have

RJ45 Mac -> Router
RJ45 Router -> Home plug
Home plug -> Home plug (via mains)
RJ45 Home plug -> Apple TV
Look like I'd need 3 to even stand a chance, no ?

How can I order one? I've been hearing a lot of raves about that particular cable, so I'd like to try it. Also, is there a return policy on those?

I know this is an old thread but I had to post. I recently acquired a Meicord Opal and It made a nice improvement to my music server setup. I put it between the NAS and switch and I am happy that I was able to get one. :D

Nice to hear that, I do sell plenty of these but not many in the UK as they are too fussy and need to read its good instead of listening to it! :)
