I've got these for sale:

4x Mullard EL84's in original boxes - NOS matched quad - Date code KM1 (1961 to 1965) Made in Gt. Brtain - £230
4x Mullard M8137(ECC83) - All are Military Spec back printed CV4004 - NOS matched quad in white boxes - £199

These test results were done by CVC.

Readings for ECC83:

Ia/Gm 1-4 - 1-4
Ia/Gm 1-5 - 1-4

Ia/Gm 1-5 - 1-4
Ia/Gm 1-5 - 1-5

Ia/Gm 1-5 - 1-4
Ia/Gm 1-55 - 1-4

Readings for EL84's

Ia/Gm 59 - 11.3
Ia/Gm 57 - 11.2
Ia/Gm 58 - 11.2
Ia/Gm 58 - 11.2

All from CVC last month and used in my Audio Note OTO a few times.

Will split if I can find buyers for pairs of each.

These are very nice valves and very rare as matched NOS quads. Perfect for Leak, Audio Note etc. The EL84 is one of the best sounding valves I've heard and the Mullard ones are even better.

I have a copy the bill of sale from CVC if required.

Hi There,

Are you willing to split? I'm interested in your Mullard ECC83s. (edit - poor reading skills - you said that in your post ;) )

Did CVC provide you with any test reports? If not would you agree to sale or return based on satisfactory test results, which I could have done for about £1.50.

Not that I doubt that they are top-notch and as-described, but I swore off buying 'NOS' valves based on the number that I've bought that have turned out to be duff.

Hi Alex.

I'm willing to split but selling them as quads is much better for me so I will only split if I've got buyers for both sets of each type. Of course.. if any of the valves are duff (which I can confidently say that they are not) then send em back to me and I shall send them back to CVC.

Hi Joe,

Received the ECC83s this morning, and they are sounding very good in the phase splitter position within my Rogue Audio Stereo 90. I have found that although most people don't think that these valves are very important in a PP valve amp, it seems to have a nice beneficial effect.

Haven't put them into my C-J preamp yet, but am looking forward to trying them out in the phono stage over the weekend - hoping that the ECC83 is a quiet valve, but they can't fail to improve on the EH 12AX7s it was supplied with :).

Thats great Alex, nice one. I think they are very improtant in PP configs, no doubt about it matey, bet it sounds superb.

I reckon they are pretty quiet and being Mullards I think you have the cream.

Haha... I was well and truly busted as she was standing by my side when I opened the door.

I told her it was a valve, which luckily I think I got away with because we are having a kitchen installed and I think she thought it was a plumbing fitting ;)
