Mini-T amp repair & modding

Hi there DIY campers!

Having fried the chip in my Mini-T amp and purchased a replacement part, I can now see that both my experience, eyesight and steadiness of hand are not up to the task of desoldering and resoldering these 24 pins :rolleyes:

Would anyone be prepared to take this on? All liability is mine and to make the job interesting, if you'd care to do any modding once you see inside then I wouldn't mind the risk of an experiment not working out. For example, I would always use with a preamp so the volume pot could be bypassed and compensated for as a starter.

Can you not get the whole amp board and swap it out?

I might have a crack at it for you Steve ;) Take a look at this post (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showpost.php?p=199250&postcount=1) & tell me if it's about the same size, if so i'll give it a go ;) I can't guarantee a quick turnaround though...

By the way, both the amplifiers work 100% fine.

A new Mini-T is £65 and the chip was £6.95 - so it seemed worth a look.

It's similar to this. Have a look, you can't kill it. If you revive her, then you can hear something as transparent as a very transparent thing :scratch:
