I was really saddened on hearing this news this morning. I grew up listening to Springsteen a lot as a kid and still love the music. Clemons was such a bug part of what made it so good for me.

As Bruce proclaimed, back in '75, and then at pretty much every gig since...

"When the change was made uptown
And the Big Man joined the band...
From the coastline to the city,
All the little pretties raise their hands,
I'm gonna sit back right easy and laugh,
When Scooter and the Big Man bust this city in half,
With a Tenth Avenue freeze-out..."

The Big Man, Clarence Clemons.

I'll never forget meeting him in grade school. Gosh, he was huge... towering!! But, a really, truly, nice guy. You'd have to be to subject yourself to grade school brats.
