Hello!

I actually first came across this site when looking for info regarding the Beresford DAC I bought and modded. Finally got around to joining!

I am a new manufacturer with a fresh take on the design of hifi. I won't go into it here, but you can find more about my busines side in the trade forum or on my website.

Anyway, as for my hifi...

The system I use most at the moment is a Marantz PM6002 amp driving Wharfedale Diamond 9.1s. A modest system, but does the job.

My headphone set up is Audeze LCD-2 headphones driven by a DIY AMB B22 headphone amplifier (separate enclosures for PS and amp :D).

These are fed by a cheap Denon radio tuner or a CD player->DIY DAC.

At the moment, I have a fairly big DIY project on the go. I am trying to convert my DIY ProAc Response 2.5 speakers to actives. I have most of the stuff for the amps and am going to start soldering those up. Should have made a serious dent in that in the next week or two. If you can tell, I kind of like DIY! In fact, my love of DIY and building hifi was half responsible for me wanting to launch a headphone amp commercially.

Anyway, I think that's about it for now.

Hi Oliver, welcome to AoS :) Nice to see another DIYer on here, there are quite a few that tinker & a few that take things a little more seriously as i'm sure you'll eventually discover ;)

I recently removed the crossover from my main speakers & went active with external amplifiers myself, so join the club :eyebrows: When i find the time it'll be a new pair of DIY speakers later followed by DIY solid state amps.

Apart from being fun you get where you want to go much cheaper & have a significantly larger pride of ownership!

Completely agreed; that is why so much of my kit, in particular the high end stuff is DIY. It is the kind of experience which I want to try and give to all with my new headphone amp - no dealer mark ups etc mean a fairer price and better hifi for all and therefore a better and happier world! :eyebrows:

Hi Oliver, welcome to AoS. Would love to get into a bit of DIY but I just don't get the time - maybe when I retire in about 25 years!
