Just spotted this :stalks: on German E-bay. I have never seen anything like this before. Has anyone any experience of this?

I think it's totally cool.

I do believe that a certain member of this very forum is the owner of a similar beast!

Sort of.
My one is much prettier than that, is rectangular, has a full lid and the platters with gold plated weights.
I wonder if that is a genuine Michell jobbie or one constructed from spare parts ? The arm mounting arrangement looks a bit 'bodged' and not attached to the turntable. It's nothing like the quality and finish of mine, which was the first of a batch of ten..

Micro Seiki also did a twin turntable.

:lolsign: Now that's just ridiculous :eyebrows: How many arms does one need after all  Maybe Kali (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali) could make use of it

...MUCH prettier - Dave's is truly a work of art - remind me to bring the camera next time and we'll get everyone salivating over their keyboards Dave, especially Andre! :eyebrows:
You can drool over the Prisma while I smuggle the TD124 out the door

The TD124 is now snuggling down nicely in it's new, satin black, Russ Collinson plinth and very elegant it looks too.
Don't forget the camera Alex.

Insane. Coolness factor = 17.8 of a possible 10.
For some reason, I can hear some kid asking, "Can I skratch on that?":rolleyes:

My one used to be in the window of our St.Albans shop, turning 24 hours/day. It was a great head turner but the downside was that several times/day, the door would open and a variety of kids would come in asking 'how much is that Disco deck mate ?'
I put a large sign on top saying 'Not a Disco deck. For display only '. This reduced the number of enquiries but still too many. So I, reluctantly, moved it to a back room.
Says a lot for Michell's engineering as this turntable ran for 24 hours/day, 365 days/ year for maybe 12 - 15 years. During that time it used the same belts and received only a yearly service. It's now enjoying retirement in my office.
Years ago there was a little independant retailer opened up near me - he did budget seperates and AV stuff but to attract a bit of interest he stuck a Gyrodec in the window. It was only there a couple of days and someone came in and asked to buy it. So he sold it and got another for the window. That sold within a week.... and so on...
Despite that the shop didn't last that long unfortunately...

For many years in our Radlett shop, we had a metallic blue Transcriptor turning with a white Orang Utang sitting on top, going round and round. That was a good attraction, especially with the passing kids.
Just a few weeks ago, a customer came to me who remembers sitting in his buggy, looking at the 'monkey going round'. It's stuck in his mind for over twenty years.
