Recommend me a DAC kit

Hi all, for those that know me will be aware I'm a vinyl fanatic, but I have a large cd collection. I have been looking at purchasing a DAC kit for a little while now to plug into either my Phillips dvd963SE, Marantz CD52 II, Cambridge audio DVD99 to elevate their CD performance. I have no idea where to start. I like the idea of constructing one or purchasing one of the Chinese DAC's from Ebay.
Any views would be welcome.
