Another freebie up for grabs (no takers on the Saba) :(
This is my Marantz 2225 that I have had for many years and is still in use in a spare room. It is in near perfect physical condition with spotless alluminium front panel and fake wood metal case. It works faultlessly on CD and the amplifier section is spot on but the FM section went a bit off and I twiddled with it and now it has very little reception as I have bu**ered all the adjustments up:doh: It still works but the stations are in the wrong place and are few and far between. All the dial lights and meters work . So any one that actually knows what they are doing should be able to get it back to how it should be.
I really love these receivers and I don't want to end up dumping it so if someone can give it a home I would be very happy.
It will have to be picked up as it is a freebie, sorry.
There are some odd reflections on the pictures but be assured there are no marks and the tuning dials are both the same colour. Looks odd but just dodgy photography.

They sound surprisingly good for what they are:) These one's are the OA5 I think they are called, with 4 tweeters. I replaced the main Phillips full range drivers as one was drooping a bit but it still sounded ok. Still have them just incase I ever sell them.
Replaced with an "Eagle" equivalent.

Sound like the same model that my friend owned ;) They certainly didn't sound that bad either from what i remember.

I bought them from a "Wiggwammer" Adpully I think his forum name is.
Not 100% sure as I am banned over there so can't check my old messages .:mental:
(Nothing to do with the Sonabs or Adpully)

:lolsign: Oh i wouldn't worry about that, i have been banned from a forum simply because someone kept asking the same damn question & i got hacked off answering.

They took exception to it as well

Stuff em!

Enjoy the Sonabs, while they definately don't offer pin point accuracy they still sounded half reasonable to me. The stereo wasn't exactly half reasonable either :eyebrows:

Good on you Pete for your generosity, and John for saving it it - hope you get it back up to speed - IMHO 70s Marantz tuners and receivers are some of the most gorgeous bits of kit ever and the thought of one going to the tip is too much to bear! :)
