Just a quick one, guys... I've found there is a subtle but fairly significant improvement in sound if the locking lever for the arm height adjustment is left in the 'unlocked' position. I discovered this yesterday when fiddling with mats and thus raising and lowering the arm.
In the unlocked position the music seems to 'flow' better with marginally more focus and 'purpose', with a little more space around everything, too. When it's locked the sound to my ears becomes a little less expressive and 'shut in'. I've got no idea why this happens.
You might not hear anything in your own system (or I could be imagining it) but I thought it was worth pointing out. It won't cost anything to try! Let me know if anyone else hears a similar result :)
