I do believe that this retailed for £5,000 back in the day.
Still a very fine unit today.
This example is in pretty much perfect condition and works flawlessly.
At least I think it works flawlessly, but if you carry on delving into the unit's capabilities, there's an almost limitless number of ways you can use the thing, and I certainly haven't explored them all! I haven't even touched its video processing capability.
Anyway - an excellent stereo pre-amp, with on-board DAC that accepts up to 5 RCA and 3 TOSLINK digital inputs, and 8 stereo analog (RCA) inputs.
It also has surround sound capability - some of the "effects" are quite subtle and genuinely do enhance listening pleasure in some circumstances - and the MC-1 can output side and rear and centre channels as well as plain old stereo!
I have the manual (you'll need it!! :eyebrows:) - although it's also available on-line from here http://www.lexicon.com/products/downloads.asp?ID=6.
I've had this unit for quite a while and have very much enjoyed using it - but it's been resting for some time now, which is a bit daft - it's a fine piece of kit that should be enjoyed!
So - £350 which is what it cost me. :) Postage extra or collection from GL17.
... or p/ex - swapsies.
