WILLIAMS Copper DAC/PRE

This is one of the first DAC Tubehunter ever made
Its a lovelly DAC and has been well looked after I am only selling it as I changing my gear
How would I describe the DAC well it has a very clean sound, I use a good mains cable and this has taken it to another level.
A few people hear have one Johnboy has Hamish old DAC
I am looking for £260 this will include postage and is the same cost I paid for it.
I am open to cash paypal or cheque But you would have to wait till the cheque cleared before I send
Its a great DAC I just use a usb to spdif converter and get great sounds from it.
I had it up against the top of the range Benchmark and prefered the copper dac just

whats all the connections i and outs, I will take it at asking if u give me some more info on it and the tubes etc.

It has a new recitifer tube and I have spare tubes I will incude in the deal
The recitifier is ez80 and the other tubes 12AX7/ECC83
please confirm if you interested

Just to clarify. Tubes are EZ80 or EZ81 for recifier and 6N3P-DR signal.
The board is a 1543 Dac x 4 NOS into a SRPP circuit. This was a one off and not the same as the other two copper dacs.
Still an excellent sound.

I bought your Brass Dac unheard from Ian Walker for £500 and now I would happily pay twice that; the way it can send high frequencies sparkling and spinning out into the room is so real and fascinating. I've never heard this from any system at any price. :youtheman:

I've no intention of letting this one go, but could you give me the basic spec, just for interest, as I've never known it.

Hi Steve,

The Brass Dac uses the much admired Gigawork 24 Bit/192khz CS8416/CS4398 Dac board. The output is taken directly from the CS4398 chip into the grid of the 6N3P-DR, then from the anode into the second triodes' grid, out from the cathode into a Mundorf Supreme. Very similar to the Kondo M77 circuit but with a small amount of feedback implemented.
The tube power supply uses a quality VVT transformer with tube rectification and high quality Obligato polypropylene capacitors.
I liked that design very much, incredible amount of detail.

Getting this heart for my system has allowed me to develop it in a direction that was frustrated before by the detail being achieved in a manipulated and artificial way. Now I can do things in other areas without having to consider exposing or masking that weakness.

The more I lower the system noise floor or raise the dynamic capability, the dac just raises it's game and shines brighter. Literally awesome.
