View Full Version : Persona non grata?
So the Danes want to make "my mate Marmite" persona non grata. :(

Countries have gone to war over such matters.
Methinks:
"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".
(Shakespeare Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 4, 87 -91)
You may of course disagree.
Quick. Ban Lego in retaliation.

Manufacturers are frequently required to modify their products in order to comply with import or export regulations. In this case it is the use of fortified vitamins etc. in Marmite which are in breach of local import conditions.
Marmite can still sell in Denmark I suppose, as long as the product can comply. The fact that they have not bothered to comply speaks volumes about their view on the importance of the Danish market.
Is Marmite still owned by a UK company, or is the call to arms in support of a foreign business?
It's unileaver, so I wouldn't be too worried about them, they're probably using/creating the whole story as some cheap advertising...cynical? me? ;)
