Windy weather!

It is extremely blustery here. The view out of the back windows would make you think that gravity had disappeared, what with the pieces of garden furniture and kids garden toys sailing about! I had to go out and stow the wooden furniture as it was blowing all over the place and the kids trampoline was at risk of take off until I weighed it down with concrete blocks.

Also, there is a risk that my trip to the mainland may be delayed this week due to another eruption in Iceland! I hope it doesn't affect us too much.

Mate when I lived on Orkney, 100mph+ winds were the norm through the winter and spring, one night it was so windy some of the roof tiles were ripped off and ended up going through the roof of my car:eek: I always put my car in the garage after that, as i recall my kayak blew away that night too, it turned up about 5 miles away in bits up against a fence in a farmers field.

yes it would, however there was literally nothing left of it, so i'm pleased i wasn't ;)

The same night a mate of mine lost his static caravan in the storm only the chassis remained, he bought it to live in while his house was being built, people up there do this quite often, buy the land, get the services in, stick a caravan on the land then build the house, anyway he had only been in his new house for about 2 weeks before it blew away, a very lucky escape:wowzer:

Pretty windy here to :eyebrows: Pity i have to go out shopping a bit later, going to be interesting on the way there but i certainly won't need to pedal on the way back :lol:

You know what happened... Got out to the shed to get my bike & thought i felt a few drops of rain. It was drizzling by the time i got to the shops...

Just kidding, I grew up on the Wirral, and only left last year after 40 years so it can't be that bad!

Thanks! :) I've not long moved up here from Chester and it's amazing the moods of the sea. I really love it. Standing out there on the promenade you could lean at an angle and the wind supports you as the salt spray washes over you! Exhilarating.

Yes, it's a building site at the moment. I'm keeping an open mind how it'll turn out. There's still a lot of unspoilt coast, I'm looking forward to cycling around the coastal path when I get enough guts up to mount my old 80's racing bike again after a lapse of..err...quite a long time. :eyebrows:

You should get the bike out Tony. My friend and I used to cycle down the A41 to Seacombe and then along the coastal path all the way to Moreton and occasionally then on to West Kirby and all the way back via the Wirral way! A nice long ride in good weather. When I was a kid RJ's was the place to avoid! :lol:
