My skip has arrived and I have a day off to get rid of accumulated stuff. It's good to have a clear-out, in so many ways ;)

A paving man is also arriving to build me a patio in the garden so that I can finally use the garden furniture that I bought a year ago and stored in the garage.

Happy days - some manul work and no need to engage the brain :)

P.S. aren't skips expensive these days? About £180 for a 4 yard!

Hope you have fun filling it though. I find throwing out old tut quite therapeutic.

About 4 years ago I threw my whole house out (apart from my stereo) I'm not kidding either!! Every pot, pan plate toaster, sofa.TV etc... went to the dump.

Its good to be quite ruthless in the end.

I've already found an almost complete World Audio KEL34 amp that I had forgotten about, an Ultracraft AC-300 arm, a Dynavector 20A2 cartridge, an Empire 2000E/III cartridge, a Shure tracking weight gauge and an ADC headshell :eek:

Oh, and a Croft SIP preamp, Croft 4S power amp and Leak Stereo 20 power amp.

I've just finished ripping up our concrete drive and replacing it with slate. Myself. Well, Val did more than her fair share actually. Some Easter holiday :doh:

2 x 6 yard skips at £180 each, approx 12 tonnes of hardcore manually moved, then 3 tonnes of slate distributed and I can feel every kilo!

Agreed that it's quite therapuetic to just do a bit of manual labour as a change but the devil's in the detail they say - in this case, the definition of "a bit".

Still, done now and many hours of Hifiddling have been earned :cool:

Well, my back certainly hurts and I haven't moved nearly as much stuff as you. Still, the skip is full and I feel a warm sense of a job much needed now done :)

Very good to see people doing a bit of work for themselves these days, most blokes i notice are generally bone idle & rather pay a fortune for someone else to do the work..
