I really should know better than to start fiddling with things without wearing safety gear, this is the result of a piece of plastic guttering hitting me on the head this morning after wrestling a down pipe out out of the way 10ft below the piece that fell off and hit me whilst chasing render off my walls, blood everywhere, scared the kids, hopefully no stitches needed, sitting here with a piece of kitchen roll balanced on it, still weeping at the moment and a nice headache to be getting on with, oh well a good excuse to sit and listen to music and get a bit of sympathy for a while, i've got to feel better soon as i have a 50 ton crane lorry booked at 2 oclock today to move a big engine, just have to find a big plaster and wear a hat i suppose, why do head cuts produce so much blood when the flesh is so thin

leave it open mate as long as it's not bleeding, it will heel quicker, and i know what you mean about the amount of blood, i bet you thought you'd cut yur head off

I think you'd find that a quack would recommend that got stitched up ;) That's going to be one heck of a scar & vastly worse if it's not stitched :rolleyes:

my big sister is coming over tonight for a curry, shes in the medical profesion so i will get a second opinion, i really didn't want to spend my saturday afternoon in casuallty especially with the crane lorry booked, starting to smart agian now i'm in, a few beers will sort that i hope ;)

big sis has told me i should of has a few sterostrip type stitches but i have left it too late, looks like i'm going to be scared for life:doh:

Scotch is on my top list of kill or cures, Glenmorangie here i come:cool:

I wouldn't think of it as a scar, think of it as "character". Besides, "V" was one of the best TV series ever made! ;) Cheers!

I've got a matching "V" on one of my fingers after a little accident with a window when i was 12, that needed 5 stiches :lol::doh:

That looks like its all the way through the skin John,

I would either go to casualty and get it steri stripped and maybe glued, there is still time I think or go to superdrug or anywhere else with a pharmacy and buy some steri strips and stick it together yourself. You usually have to ask at the pharmacy for these.

It will move about otherwise and take a while to heal with a wider scar.

Look on NHS site, the nearest hospital A&E that is open on Sundays is not always the best, I learnt this the hard way. go to a small hospital that is open Sundays you will usually get better service.

A minor injuries unit is all you need if you can find one that is open on Sundays.

I have no fingertips on my left hand, sliced them off on a table plane when i was a cabinet maker..Bled like mad & hurt like hell.. I just have large half moon shaped scars on each finger tip :lolsign:
