hi ,my name is Jim , i am in Ireland , but originally from UK,
my setup at this time is , denon avr 3300 amp home cinema type , & some crappy aiwa speakers .
all my music is on cd & hard drive , i have a sonos setup ,& i hope to build up from that , as all my music will be on a nas drive .
my music taste is anything i like really classical , rock ect,
i can say i have never had a good setup but hopefully with the help of forum members , i will be guided i the right direction.

BTW thanks to Marco & nick for the help sorting my registration . to
Welcome Mike!
Only just joined meself!
By the sounds of it you have a decent front end there, and the Denon - whilst more suited to movies than music - would probably sing with a few mods here and there. There's some amazing 2nd hand bargains to be found for speakers on fleabay and elsewhere so it might be an idea to change those first as/when funds allow.
I love buying second-hand gear - Gives one a nice feeling of satisfaction when you get something which out-performs something new at a similar price. A bit of DIYing can also pay dividends too.
Anyways I'm waffling - hope you have fun on here!

hi John
fleabay ,yes i have been looking , diying may be beyond me at the moment .
ill be looking for a nice amp & speakers used most likely, basically some decent gear for once . as the denon ,is not really up to the job as you say , not sure weather to go valve amp or not ,always liked the idea of owning one but are they safe can you get valves ect
that's the plan at the mo .
