View Full Version : Whiney speakers
I appear to have a high pitched whine coming out of my speakers , including my subwoofer. I have had buzzing in the past but this is very different. I can only hear it when my ear is right up by the speaker but it cant be right can it?
Can you isolate what causing it

Maybe it's left Colin  :eyebrows:
Sounds like you have some kind of weird interference on the mains that's getting into everything, it might be related to the fooky earth problems your upstairs flat has reported & that someone needs access to your flat for the isolator
If it's coming from everything then you need to look at what everything is connected to, that boils down to the mains supply at the end of the day ;)

Try unplugging or filtering smps psu's near by ... That fixed it for me ...
Hard to isolate things because the DAC amps and sub are all one.
Im wondering if it is this earth thing. Just pullled out an old Tacima and i swear the noise floor as dropped. I can hear the flipping drums now.
A few of us have gone to the trouble of dedicated earth Workd wonders but needs to be done by someone who really knows their stuff
Rented property. Cant even get the landlord to fit a digital aerial.
What about a balanced mains transformer. If my earth is shagged i suppose it wont do much.
