Phillips CD104

Hi all

Got a philips cd104 that needs some TLC,
dosnt like to play discs been told from a few people off here that its easy to fix,
but unsure how to go about it,

Price? unusure what its worth like this so say £50? :scratch:

Humm, im not good at fixing these this typre of stuff im better at breaking it! or working on a car! :lolsign:

So would rather someone else fixed it than me make it worse!

First CD player i ever owned, mine suffered to before i got rid, something to do with the through hole plating & solder joints if i remember right :scratch:

Built like a tank though, you have to pay mega bucks to get a solid metalic draw these days :eyebrows: Weighed a ton, they don't make em like they used to :rolleyes:

You need to drill all the through board solder joints (1, 1.5 or 2mm bits - both top board and bottom [RHS when you take top cover off]), then used some tinned copper wire through the holes and solder back in place. This will work, assuming the laser is not knackered as well.

Otherwise I will give you £10 plus postage to Ireland as-is (these sound really good when you port the output of the DAC straight into a simple buffer stage!).

All you need to do it put a decent reg on the 7220 and you will realise the benefits of keeping it!!! :eyebrows:

sorry! just realised its uses an SAA7030 not a 7220!!!
