Which TRS to RCA Connector?

I'll be getting a Duet 2 when they are available, to be used as a DAC and later, to record some solo stuff.

Following Hamish's advice, I now own some Dynaudio MC-15's, which have only one RCA connection on each speaker. The Duet 2 as balanced TRS output. I have Mark Grant RCA cable (not the precision series) and the Belkin White stuff :¬)

Would I see any benefit of getting two of these:

I get the feeling I'd be paying for the brand logo, since it's a solid piece of gold plated metal.

Before doing anything please make sure that your equipment will be okay when using that jack plug. You'll be shorting out one of the outputs to ground, now while a lot of professional equipment has servos that balance the system to run single ended by shorting the cold connector to ground i'd make sure yours can be wired the same.

If not you'll need a stereo jack plug & only connect the hot & ground which will leave the cold connection open circuit ;)

Thanks Mark, that makes sense. Just to clarify, I'll relay in my deciphered, laymen's terms...

I need to make sure the RCA in of the speaker is able to accept input with the cold connection grounded? This is essentially going straight to the Dynaudio support team :¬)

Lets see if i am... You have a pair of what sound like active speakers with an RCA phono input, am i right so far?

From what i gather there is something with a balanced output...

Perhaps you ought to explain precisely what has the phono connector & what has the 1/4" jack before i make a pratt of myself :lolsign:

Back on topic though, would the Monster adapter be any better than the standard one?
