yes i saw the news last night that he had taken a turn for the worse, an it is very sad indeed that he's now gone
I must confess I really don’t understand this, what seems to me, morbid reporting on a Hi Fi forum of so called celebrity deaths.
Even weirder is the subsequent posts.
I fail to see what makes these peoples death any more tragic, if death must be seen as such, as the deaths of thousands of other people that die each day.
To me it just seems like some media assisted weirdness primarily indulged in by people who have reached the age where death becomes a conscious concern.
Far more tragic imo is the death of a very young person who didn‘t get the chance to reach celebrity status, if that is what we are to believe is a measure of a persons value in life.
I sometimes wonder if I joined a Hi Fi forum where music, a very much alive and vibrant art should be a major feature or, an old peoples home.

Abstract Chat : Discussions not about hi-fi or music.

No worries John.......
The way I see it there are some who deserve their place and too many who dont. Some who have been ambassadors for their sport and others who just want to milk it. I appreciate the former but couldnt give a toss for the latter. The same goes for anything, music, movies etc etc
If nothing else Ray it makes me smile at the memory of my Old Mans delight at outlasting a couple of people he had known for many years
Having spent 35 years having nothing to do with him and a timely reconciliation of sorts, anything that brings him to mind must be a good thing ;)

Well you're defo old enough to qualify for the latter, zimmer-boy!
;)
Marco.

The point is, there isnt any point...
Its recreation/entertainment or whatever you want to call it. Who in their right mind would sit for hours at a time just listening to prerecorded music. No real physical activity and in a lot of cases no visual stimulation. we do it cos we like it BUT...whats the point.....
