View Full Version : What Free-Sat Help pleas

Hi All
Well I just bit the bullet today and got my self a 40 inch LCD Full1080P telly Now looking at the Free Sat HD system have considered the M Vision unit From maplin and others Can anyone advice me on this unit as I'm not to well up on what all the Spec http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...24785&DOY=24m9 (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=224785&DOY=24m9)

Well there has been some sort of change in the format (or something) of freeview transmissions which apparently have rendered some freeview boxes useless. I think it was mentioned in the latest HFW?... I don't know if this has any effect on freesat though.

May be worth looking into before you buy anything?

Can't comment on that particular receiver but recently bought a Humax Freesat HD box which is great and has no problems. The one from Mapin may be freeview rather than freesat (which is slightly different). AVForums seems to be a good source for such info.

My idea of going for the M Vision free sat unit is two folded one can be connected directly to my sky dish and two it has USB hard drive recording but the listed spec doesn't’t mean a lot to me :confused: so hoped the more knowledgeable here could explain some of it
