Equipment Stands

I like this, but I don't like the price, £630. Any suggestions for something the same or similar size but substantially less money please?

I needed a new rack around 5 years ago and every one that had "hi-fi" in the description seemed to have a huge price hike attached to it and to a somewhat lesser degree, AV racks too.

It was during this search that I stumbled into a Co-op furniture outlet looking for a new coffee table that I found a glass/metal rack that was a fraction of the cost of the "hi-fi" racks and every bit as good.

£600 - £800 for a hi-fi rack and this one cost me . . . . . £100. In actual fact I bought 3 of them, 1 for the TV and whatnots in the lounge and the one in the photo is 2 units combined to give me even more room.

In my experience stands and isolation/vibration control devices tend to end up sounding like what they are made of and how they work.
Glass is not something I want my music to sound like.
Can't think of any music instruments made of glass.
A lot of them are made with/from wood and metals.
Try to find a well made solid wood stand, ditch the cheap spikes and float it on something like Finite Elemente cerabase footers, would be my advice.

I might have a bash at some home made ones when i finish the extension, i going to use solid Beech worktop and maybe some wardrobe rails from B&Q cut to length as spacers or even hardwood dowels, i'm stil in the design in my head process at the moment :scratch:, probably end up at Ikea to be honest..... lifes to short
