The only thing I'd buy from MF is the gorgeous, classic, and extremely rare pre/power combo John's selling... Now *that* is a serious bit of kit, but is doesn't 'glow' orange inside ;)

I know, it's fantastic! That's what I call an amplifier, why MF went away from well engineered products to empty, meaningless, oversized cases with pretty displays I'll never know.

Well my spanked up Audiolab is doing me more than very nicely, to be honest I just don't have the opportunity for high listening levels. In fact I barely do much listening at all at the moment - just the odd hour here and there. I'll do my next wave of system tweaking when I move house (within a year) and I have more room to play in (and no neighbours), saying that I'm actually really happy with the sound I have, every component plays in perfect harmony. I fear that fiddling now would upset the balance and leave me further away from the sound I love.

However, I think it was James Bond who said never say never, or did he never say never say never? I can't remember.

I have the same mind set as many of you guys, " if you haven't got it don't spend it" - however I am also part of a company which only this week has announced 6,000 redundancies ( 25% of the workforce ) to be carried out just in time for Christmas, which just shows even when you try and manage things at your end other situations can add a challenge or two.
What I find rather amazing is that a country can be invaded, regimes toppled, many, many thousands killed in the name of non-existent WMD, and yet I will bet that not many of the perpetrators of this real Financial Mass Destruction will be held to any real account. They will be looked after by their friends in high ( wealthy) places - sick old world sometimes isn't it :scratch:
