Belt drive. The owner uses a 'racing' version of the famed EMT cartridge. Sensible! Bearing tolerance between shaft and housing is max 35 microns. The oil used is a derivative of a synthetic aero-engine lubricant. There is an hydro-dynamic reason, but for the moment but I've forgotten what it is. Meanwhile the ratio of the 35 micron clearance to the shaft diameter is apparently influential on the final sound. And no, I don't have one. I'm awaiting their DD version. I've had it with belt drives!

In terms of outlook, the maker (a master technician) is as close to the outlook of the late John Michell as I've ever met. By this I means no ‘mumbo jumbo’ aka get the engineering right and the rest will follow. He makes everything including all the screws in the arm. Doesn’t draw his own wire though. Uses VDH I think.

I would describe it as at 2 o' clock, and that's the worse position to put the motor for belt drive turntables!

Love the look of the arm, especially the 12" version. Anything that's designed for EMT cartridges is good in my book.

From what I can gather there will be at least one UK demo facility with supplies being sent direct to the buyer. By this, they mean to bypass traditional retailers. This means a saving of at least 35% off what would otherwise have been the 'conventional' RRP. The deck requires no setting up apparently - other than leveling.

The arm/cartridge geometry (for EMT) is set up in the factory and then demounted and fitted into the wooden case along with the rest of the deck. The buyer then reinserts the arm {with cartridge} into the arm socket, adjusts VTA (from the factory setting) if they wish and connects the lead-out wires. That's it - apparently.

No, not the distributor. It's possible they'll decide against one. Yes, the arm is very interesting. The vertical damping is applied in a very unusual way via two very fine vertical and stiffish wires, fixed at their lower end, which reach up into the 'turret'. I'm told that the 12" version has received a 'spectacular' review in one of the 3 German analogue-only audio mags.
