These wee things are great!

Had a loan of a Mini-T a while back which seriously impressed with the sound coming out of this wee box.
It was better sounding than my £250 Cambridge amp; cost? £60.

Trying another one (no idea which one it is) and it sounds blooming great, just as good.
Theres no speaker terminals, no phono sockets and the box is tiny.
All wired up with my Sterling Black Mamba speaker cable, which is thick enough to tow your car with, it looks hilarious.

Love the Class D sound.
A couple of Bantam Monoblocks on the list, to use with my Gator'd Caiman as a preamp.
Should take care of the amp side of things for a while....

Hi Gaz,

I'd be interested as to what amp that is, the configuration looks very similar to my Muse M21 EX (25wpc), blue light around the volume knob, upward power switch etc.

There're probably a lot of T-Amps sharing the same chassis & components, or are even identical with different branding :)

I'll see if I can find out Will.
My mate who loaned it to me is away on his hols though so cant ask him.

I'll check the case see if theres any clues.

Gaz.

Sounds bloody good, despite not being precious about gold plated connectors etc...;)

got to be a lesson there...

Yeah, I recently bought a D class amp from China for £12.00 - no case, just circuit board - and it sounds great.

As you know Gaz, I have used Class D for a couple of years and have had a Mini-T since xmas. It works well for me as my speakers are efficient and I have no complaints... well maybe one. I think the soundstage is a little closed in and two dimensional, at least in comparison to my last one.
So I will look forward to your views on the Bantams and how much better they sound. I am thinking along the lines of a Croft power amp but its a big jump in cost and I wonder if the difference is justified.

How much is the Croft Jerry?

What made me interested in the Bantam Mono's was hearing the Bantam Gold of Ali Tait's in my system and recommendations over on the 'Wam from the LAST guy who would bulls**it about hyped up hifi. (Sodbury).
"Genuine Hifi bargain" he says...for a smidge over£300 (i.e. affordable) it suits me perfectly.

You hooked up Dave's T amp yet?
Wiring it up is a pain in the arse, (see pics!) but well worth it.
Wondering how it compares to what you have?

Im getting a better sound than when I had the Mini-T in place, but Im probably just hearing the improvements of the Gator board.

I didn't bother with Dave's T amp as I assumed it would be similar to the Mini T. Perhaps I should have tried it.....
The Croft is £700 I think. Personally I dont find a huge difference between amps unlike dacs, changing Gator boards etc.

Phoa...bit pricey like you say. :stalks:
For that kind of cash Id need to really audition and be SURE it was worth it. :)

Have to say, I've now tried the Gator'd Dac with 3 different amps now, and its easy to tell the difference between them?
Think with the T-Amp I'm hearing more of what the Gator can do, I guess.

Probably would have heard it earlier if I had the Gator at the time I had the Mini-T.
