View Full Version : Hello....
Hello from Bristol!
I stumbled across this forum whilst searching for information about how to improve my digital sound. It seems a good place to learn more about what to do and the best value kit.
Can't afford much so also plan to learn lots and work out what I might be able to do myself....I quite fancy learning about electronics an there seem to be some real experts here.
Look forward to getting more involved.
Cheers,
Michael
Hey Michael :)
Are you a natural born Bristolian or an immigrant like myself?
What sort of kit have you got and what sort of music are you into…….oh arr and your blood group, current financial and marital status, bodyfat count and alcohol intake? :eyebrows:
I think that covers the normal topics. Deviant sexual practices will doubtless be investigated by Marco later

We are a tad nosey though which kind of explains things, just not quite as bad as the above!
All the best & i hope you enjoy your stay

Hi Michael, and welcome to AOS from a fellow inhabitant of our fair City
Tell us a bit about what makes you tick - hifi and music wise of course, though we do a fairly good line in counseling for most forms of abstract interests!
Have a good one, I hope you enjoy the DIY forum, it sounds like that's where you're headed!

LOL - extended piss-take, more like!
Welcome Michael, tell us what you want to achieve with your digital replay and the appropriate person will be along to advise.
Hi Michael, welcome from me, too. Yep - a bit more about your kit, and what sort of music would be good to get to know a little bit more about you. Hopefully you have already worked out we're pretty laid back here, and enjoy a bit of friendly banter - so get stuck in, and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself, :)
Hey guys, thanks for the welcome.....I think! Lol!
I've been in Bristol from around '99 but am a brummie by birth. My kit is pretty much what I purchased (from richersounds) back then and is slowly coming out of hibernation (it got packed up when we moved house a while back)
We purchased a 'project' but I'm tired of listening to music through the PC & headphones and although we havent finished the building work, am looking how to slowly build a better system around what I have.
So...
Sherwood Amp AX4050R
Kenwood CDP...at the inlaws so can't recall the model.
JPW millennium ML-510 speakers.
AKG-702 (stock cable) and Roland R-200 cans
Shure & Denon IEMs
As for music, well pretty much anything goes that makes my skin tingle.
Some favs are:
Paul Simon Graceland (amongst others)
Dvorak New World (DG)
Mozart Clarinet Concertos (DG)
Eurythmics Live
Massive Attack singles collection
Joni Mitchell Ladies of the Canyon
Kate Rusby northern lights
....I'll stop as I'm probably boring you, but pretty much anything goes. ACDC to ZZ top via NWA and a little Kylie...but please not Dylan....!
Looking forward to getting stuck in.
Michael
