Hi there. I'm new here, as I've just signed up yesterday. I got myself a Beresford TC-7510 after reading some positive reviews, and soon got to this site where I found the mods. Right now I'm planning to do the mod 21 pt 1 & 2. I'm only waiting for my opamp to arrive.
Ok, something about me. I'm Martijn from Holland and I'm interested in a lot of music, from the 60 until now. That includes Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Radiohead, The White Stripes, Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, etc.
My system consists of a Cambridge Audio 640A amp, 640C cd-player, Onkyo ND-S1 iPod dock, Pro-Ject III Debut turntable, Cambridge Audio 640P phone stage, Quad 21L2 speakers (single wired), Rel R305 sub (connected to speaker terminals) and now the Beresford dac (to play music from the digital iPod dock). All the best I could afford at the time (I got the sub for free from my father, because he wasn't pleased with the results he got). I've got some pretty decent cables too, but forgot which ones. I stopped believing there is a differnce between different cables (given that they are all of good quality), but never tested this.
I'm very happy with the dac, although I can't say it's better than the built in dac from my cd-player. It has the same amount of detail, but lacks depth and texture in the mids compared to the 640C. The difference is not huge, but it is there. I hope to address this with the mods. But even if this isn't going to work out, I'm happy with the sound it produces.
I've posted some questions in the 7510 mods thread. I hope someone can help me understand some things.
