Interesting article about new approaches to audio measurement

I've just heard about this through Twitter and thought that some here would find it interesting:

It shows how it's starting to become possible to scientifically measure the effects that cables and equipment supports etc have on hi-fi sound. So with any luck this research will allow companies to more easily develop products that actually do make improvements to system performance and then prove those improvements. It will also hopefully put unscrupulous companies out of business as they'll no longer be able to hind behind their marketing bullsh*t.

Yes, very interesting. I have to admit to having some questions about some of the graphs. But if it as they say gives repeatable results, then it will be worth watching where this goes. It would be nice to know what kit they used to capture the results. I am guessing they used the raw CD data as the reference to compare the outputs against (which is sensible).

A significant step away from the outdated and primitive basic LCR measurements that have so far been the be-all and end-all of the objectivist's arguments. It may also help to squash the theory that humans in general are incapable of actually hearing these diminuitive differences.
