Don't know if anyone is interested but I have a Saba hi/fi studio 8080H receiver
I gave a bloke £10 for it a while ago as he was just going to bin it:doh:
It all lights up and I tried it on radio, there seems to be a bit of a lack stations available but the odd few I found seemed fine,so it is working.
Physically it is in very good nick no damage, wood casework is great, dial is spot on all sliders and buttons work well, but as it has Din connections for everything and those funny 2pin speaker connectors, I don't know if any of the line outs are working.
The guy I got it from did say he was using it with a turntable with good results.

Anyway if any one wants it just let me know.
I will not be posting as it is a freebie and very heavy,no packaging etc;
So pick up only from me in Kempston,Bedford.(I can be in most anytime)
Upside is you will get to have a listen to my main setup. 211 amp quad esls etc;
Sorry some of the pic's are a bit blurry:mental:

Pete.

Hi Pete
What a nice gesture. I don't want it, but someone will have a use, I'm sure.

Cheers Steve.
They are supposedly well thought of especially in their home country I think.
Shame it is all Din really otherwise might be of more interest,although din-phono cables are easily sourced these day's. "Flashback sales" etc;

Pete.

So that is the real price to pay

Not that I would mind to have a listen

Exactly!:lolsign: Nobody leaves until they have endured me prattling on about
all the hi/fi I have accumulated over the years and suffered my Tea.
When the yawning starts I usually get the message;)

Hi Pete,
Were it not for geography, I'd gladly take it off your hands. I missed the chance for a Saba Super Stereo a couple of years ago which is a bit chubbier than yours. I'd say it'd be a good candidate for Alex_UK's 'C.A.C. Challenge'for someone! Hope you find a good home for it Pete,
Cheers

you know, that's why i like this site so much:) guys like your good self willing to part with gear for free, that they could make a few quid on if they put it on ebay. Anyway i'm sure someone will snap your hands off, thinking on it, if its from the early 70's it would be right up Andre's street.

It would be a great piece for someone with the knowledge to restore the electronics as it is so good cosmetically.
I am just trying to have a bit of a slim down on equipment as we would like to move to the south coast next year and probably downsizeing so not room for the four systems I have set up at the moment:doh:
4 pairs of speakers
6 CD players
5 tuner/amps
1 Tuner
2 Amps
1 Pre-amp
1 X10D modified
1 Dacmagic Azure
1 CD recorder
4 pairs headphones
Plus the AV stuff with 6 speakers
And a Bose wave radio/CD.:mental:

Trouble is I don't want to sell any of it!
Might manage 1 or 2 pairs of speakers and a CD or 2. I just love the big old receivers including the Sansui Quadraphonic you can see in the pic's of the Saba.
The Sansui is brilliant everything works on it spot on,loads of radio stations, all the lights and meters are working ,I have a proper FM roof aerial connected to it and my Heart CD6000 CD,with Epos M12s. makes a lovely bedroom system.
