Hey all,

I’ve got a mishmash of old and new equipment...salvation army thrift store finds hooked up to modern digital machines.

On the digital side of things, I’ve got a Mytek 96 for A/D that feeds all the analog stuff to the computer. I chose this because it's what Eddie Kramer used to transfer certain hendrix recordings into the digital realm.

Once there, the lynx Two C card feeds my amp,

which power’s my yorkville monitors. I chose the yorkies because I prefer the sound to be relatively flat across the spectrum.

On the analog side of things, I’ve got a standalone Dual 1210 which I used in that video above.

I’ll hook it up to a Sony STR-7045, which feeds into some Cerwin Vegas.

But my favourite has to be “The Verona”. I found this for 25 bucks in a thrift shop. It’s got a dual 1210 turntable, a studiotone amp, a reel to reel and integrated speakers in the cabinetry. It has this big, warm sound. It needs some work, but it was built in an era when things were designed to last and be fixable, so I have high hopes.

an elegant piece of retro 60ties furniture that seems to blend in beautifully with the rest of your stylish interior with trumpet shaped table legs and flokati-carpet

It must call for Martinis while the host is flipping "rat-pack-records" on the actually very well performing Dual 1210

I'm just as new a Member on AOS as you but I will never the less join in welcoming you to the great forum - I look forward to hear more about the "work" that you will need to carry out on the "Verona"

Nice K, very nice indeed. Loved the video by the way.
Do you think it would be better to get A little space between you and those monitors by mounting them on stands or something?

Rat - pack records - love it!
I gotta find a technician who can go through the Verona. Im assuming it's gotta be re-capped, etc. I'll post pics when it happens...

Yeah, the speakers need work - either something to decouple them from the desk, or a separate mount would improve things...
