Hi,

A remote that should work is one from the Harmony range.. Not the cheapest but you can control a lot of devices, not just one..

I have been using harmony remotes for a few years and am more than happy with them :)

+1 :)

I'm actually using a Harmony 555 to do basic functions on my 940. It'll be a bit difficult to use it for adding text though. That could be remedied by getting a keyboard to plug into the front of the machine. Does the 930 have the facility?

All Sony minidisc players used the same code set so any sony MD remote will do the job for the basic functions at least.

I should still have the remote for my MD player and the MD player to go with it. I forget the model though. The MD player doesn't record anymore so you're welcome to either. I've been meaning to list it on eBay.
I'll try and dig out the remote and let you know the model. It probably won't be till the weekend though. :)
