My impression of the original UK vinyl release was that the recording was dull and not very pleasant. However, many UK pressings of US material could sound way inferior (I remember that Steely Dan & Talking heads were in a different quality league on US vinyl for instance). The original CD wasn't much better, but a couple of tracks from this LP placed on their Greatest Hits compilation were very much better sounding.

This re-issue is supposedly from the analogue masters, not from a digital copy and at 45, much higher levels or less to no limiting should be possible. Well worth a punt if you're of a certain age ;)

Don't get me wrong, I'm "of a certain age", so Rumours is of fairly high significance to me, but "one of the most exciting releases of the year" - give me a break.:rolleyes:
The most exciting thing about it is the record company managing to reinvent it again and attempting to make us buy it again.

FYI I played Rumours last night (24/96 files ripped from the DVD-Audio Disc), and it gets an airing here three or four times a year.
The mastering on this release is excellent :)
