Just a quick post to say hello to everyone. My name is Simon I'm currently living in Dublin but am originally from the west country.

Current system is:

A cambridge audio CD player
Trends audio T amp
Trends audio USB DAC
Impulse H6 Speakers
homemade silver interconnets on the CD
and homemade cat5 speaker cables

I have an Old Fisher X-100-A which I didn't bring with me when I moved to Dublin and am about to replace the T amp with a Leak Stereo 20 which originally belonged to my Grandfather.

So am on the look out for a suitable Preamp to match.

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum.

Lovely city you live in - I worked in Dublin for a couple of years and had a really good time.

What's your taste in music?

Hi Simon,
Welcome to The Art of Sound.
What sort of thing were you thinking of to match the Fisher with - vintage or modern?

Cheers

Yeah I'm really enjoying it here, just moved into to our own house so have space to set up the hifi properly.

As for music i have quite a varied collection, folk, blues, indie, rock, metal and electronic.
Last buys were elbows new album which is a great follow up to the seldom seen kid and goes back to the slower laid back style of asleep in the back. and they were brilliant live last week in the point.
And Eric Clapton and JJ Cales last album.

The fisher is currently sat in my old mans house collecting dust, it really needs a bit of work to clean it up and a new mains lead etc.

was a cheap ebay buy from Haden Boardman a good few years ago. rough around the edges but sounds ok.

Hi johnboy,

Yeah I'm looking to getting the leak set up I'm going home over easter so the old man is digging it out and testing it on his system, then will have to post it over to Dublin.

And I'm sure I'll have to think about do some work on it as it is all original as far as I'm aware so some of the compontents will be getting pretty tied by now.
